Landscape Boulders and Accent Rock
Landscape Boulders and Accent Rock
Our boulders come in a wide range of natural sizes and shapes, with plenty to choose from throughout the quarry. They are the kind of material that gives a landscape real presence: a single well-placed stone makes a natural centerpiece for a rock garden, while a grouping can anchor a larger design, frame an entrance, or hold a slope. Every piece is unique, shaped by the lava it came from, so no two boulders read quite the same.
Because each one is different, the best way to buy boulders is to come out and pick yours in person rather than ordering sight unseen. Bring a hard hat for safety in the quarry and some marking ribbon so we can tag and set aside the stones you reserve. Seeing a boulder in person is really the only way to know whether its size, shape, and face will work for the spot you have in mind, so plan to look before you commit.
Boulders work as both function and feature. Larger stones serve as natural retaining elements and borders that hold ground without the look of a built wall, while sculptural pieces stand on their own as focal points in a bed or beside an entry. Paired with cinder, gravel, or planting, they give a Big Island landscape a grounded, established feel that smaller materials cannot match on their own.
