Concrete Aggregate Mix (60/40 Sand and Rock Blend)
Concrete Aggregate Mix (60/40 Sand and Rock Blend)
Concrete Aggregate Mix is a pre-blended sand and rock material that takes most of the guesswork out of batching concrete on site. It arrives ready for you to add only Portland cement and water. The blend is mixed at a 60/40 ratio, 60 percent sand to 40 percent rock, which produces the standard 3-2-1 concrete blend once cement is added, that is 3 parts sand, 2 parts rock, and 1 part cement.
That balance suits a wide range of general concrete work, but no two jobs are identical, so the mix is easy to adjust. If a job calls for a coarser, stronger finish you can add more rock, and if the mason wants a smoother, finer result you can add more sand. This flexibility lets the same delivered material serve footings, slabs, and smaller pours without ordering separate aggregates.
Concrete strength depends on both the mix and the application, and structural work often carries specific requirements. Check building codes or confirm with your contractor on the strength your project needs before you batch, especially for anything load-bearing. For everyday concrete jobs around the property, a pre-blended aggregate mix saves time, reduces waste, and keeps the ratio consistent from batch to batch.
