In containers, blend one-third compost with two-thirds potting mix to enrich soil. For established lawns and gardens, topdress with a thin compost layer to feed plants over time. You can also use compost as a mulch to retain moisture and enrich soil, though it’s less effective for weed control. For seed starting, ensure compost is finely sifted and fully decomposed, mixed with other materials for proper drainage.
